Following a presentation by the Vote NO on Initiative 123 committee, feedback from members at that meeting, and a clear understanding of how poorly Initiative 123 is written and what it would mean to our waterfront, the WENA executive committee voted unanimously to endorse and recommend to our members a NO vote on Initiative 123 on the August Primary Election ballot.
West Edge Neighborhood Association is particularly concerned about what the measure means to our community. Via the No on Prop 123 web site: "I-123 creates an unelected board and grants them unlimited access to the City’s budget to implement their plan to build a massive elevated structure running from the Pike Place Market to Century Link field. It directly conflicts with the existing Waterfront plan, which was developed through an open public process that included input from thousands of Seattleites."
Voters can expect their ballots in late July; they will be due postmarked by Tuesday, August 2.
